Pink reflective window tint to shopfront glazing, illuminated neon-effect fascia signage

The brief

Rumours is a beauty parlour on a busy Glasgow street, taking over a traditional stone shop unit with a single large display window and a recessed entrance door. The owner wanted the frontage to feel instantly recognisable, premium and on-brand — using the salon's signature pink as a full-window treatment while adding a lit sign that would carry the name after dark. The glazing also needed to give clients privacy from the pavement without closing the salon off completely.

What we did

  1. Step 1

Fitted the main display window and the entrance door glass with a pink reflective window tint, giving the glass a mirrored, colour-shifted finish that reads as a bold pink facade from the street.

  2. Step 2

Worked the film to the glazing beads and door frame edges, trimming cleanly so the pink tint appears as a factory finish rather than an applied panel.

  3. Step 3

Installed a black powder-coated aluminium fascia tray with raised neon-effect 'RUMOURS' lettering in bright pink, set out in a custom rounded typeface that matches the brand's social and print identity.

  4. Step 4

Positioned the sign to sit dead-centre on the fascia, with letter spacing sized to read clearly from the opposite pavement and glow evenly along the street at night.

  5. Step 5

Left the entrance door vision panel tinted but unobstructed, so the salon feels open and welcoming while the reflective face still screens the treatment area from direct sightlines.

  6. Step 6

Completed the window film and illuminated fascia in one installation visit, with all cabling for the sign routed neatly behind the fascia and the glass cleaned and reinstated before opening.

The result

The unit now stops foot traffic: the pink reflective glass catches daylight and street lighting, while the illuminated 'RUMOURS' sign owns the frontage after dark. Clients have privacy inside, passers-by see a cohesive brand statement, and the salon reads as a premium, established beauty destination on the street.
