Scope

Mirrored external privacy tint, frosted privacy film and small cut logo manifestations

The brief

A Glasgow city-centre office floor sat close to neighbouring buildings, with desks running along a fully glazed elevation and glass-fronted meeting rooms off the open-plan area. First Source needed privacy from overlooking windows, privacy inside the meeting rooms, and Approved Document M compliant manifestation on every glazed run — all without dulling the daylight the floor depends on.

What we did

1. Step 1

   Applied a mirrored solar/privacy film to the external window line so the glazing reads as a reflective facade from the courtyard opposite, blocking sightlines into the desk areas during daylight while staff keep the view out.

2. Step 2

   Kept the mirrored film to the vision panels only and worked around the blind mechanisms and opening vents so windows still operate normally.

3. Step 3

   Fitted the meeting-room and partition glazing with a full-height etch-effect frosted film, held back at head height and floor level so borrowed daylight still carries into the corridor and open-plan floor.

4. Step 4

   Cut a small firstsource logo repeat and ran it as a manifestation band top and bottom on every glazed run and glass door — compliant marking at both the required heights, delivered as brand detail rather than a plain safety dot band.

5. Step 5

   Aligned the logo repeat pitch across doors, side lights and partition bays so the marks line through from one elevation to the next.

6. Step 6

   Installed around a live floor, wet-applied and squeegeed with all glass cleaned and offcuts removed the same visit.

The result

Desks along the window line are no longer overlooked, meeting rooms have genuine privacy, and every glazed run carries a compliant, on-brand manifestation band — with the floor as bright as it was before the film went on.
