Hoarding & Construction Site Branding

Hoarding is the largest advertising space most developments will ever have, and it stands in the busiest part of the street for the length of the build. Treated as a graphic asset rather than a plywood barrier, it sells units, reassures neighbours and puts every contractor's name in front of the public for months.

Typical turnaround
10–15 working days from site programme
Areas we cover
Glasgow, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Paisley and most of Scotland

Developer, contractor and funder boards

A typical scheme carries several layers of information: the developer's brand and CGI visuals, the scheme name and completion date, sales or letting contact details, the principal contractor and consultant team credits, funder and grant logos, and the statutory notices required for the site.

We lay all of that out as one coherent run rather than a patchwork of individually supplied panels, keeping logo sizes proportionate to the sponsorship arrangement and making sure the sales message dominates at eye level where the public actually reads it.

Materials and fixing to hoarding

Timber hoarding is normally faced with printed panels or a direct-applied print on a smooth substrate; Heras fencing takes printed mesh or scrim banners cable-tied at close centres so they do not flap. Panels are UV-laminated because a hoarding graphic that fades and peels reads worse than no graphic at all.

Where the run is long, we set panel joints at sensible intervals so a damaged or superseded section can be swapped without redoing the whole elevation.

Working on live sites

Construction sites have their own rules and we work inside them: site induction before we start, RAMS issued in advance, permits where required, CSCS-carded fitters, and works sequenced around deliveries and lifting operations.

Programmes change, and hoarding graphics change with them — phase two artwork, updated CGIs after planning revisions, 'now selling' and 'final units' overlays. We keep the artwork on file so each update goes straight to print.

What we specify

  • UV-laminated printed hoarding panels
  • Printed mesh and scrim for Heras fencing
  • Direct print to smooth ply and composite facings
  • Correx and foamex information and notice boards
  • Reflective and statutory site signage

How we deliver the work

  1. 1. Site and programme review

We work from the hoarding drawing and the construction programme, so panel sizes suit the frame, and installation lands after the boards are up but before the site goes public-facing.

  2. 2. Design for a moving audience

Hoarding artwork is set out for people passing at walking or driving speed: one message per panel, big type, and CGI or brand imagery placed where sightlines are open.

  3. 3. Material selection

Printed vinyl on ply for smooth hoarding, direct-to-substrate print onto Foamex or Dibond for panelled frames, and anti-graffiti laminate on anything at ground level in a city-centre location.

  4. 4. Install with site rules

Our fitters carry CSCS cards, work to your RAMS and site induction, and coordinate with the principal contractor for access, exclusion zones and out-of-hours pedestrian management.

What affects the price

Every job is priced to the site, so we don't publish a fixed list. These are the main things that move the price. Send photos or measurements and we'll give you a clear, itemised quote.

  • Length and height of hoarding
  • Printed panels vs direct-applied vinyl
  • Planned life of the site and weather exposure
  • Night or weekend installation

Typical turnaround

Hoarding packages are usually produced in five to seven working days once artwork and panel schedules are fixed, with installation booked around the site programme. Replacement panels after damage are prioritised and typically fitted within 48 hours.

What makes a good result

  • Anti-graffiti laminate on public-facing panels so tags wipe off instead of needing replacement
  • Panel joins planned to fall on hoarding studs, not through a logo
  • Weatherproof edge detail so water cannot track behind the print
  • Fitters inducted and insured for live construction environments

Standards, materials and compliance

The detail we work to on every job of this type — checked at survey, recorded on the specification and evidenced on request.

Site safety
RAMS issued in advance, CSCS-carded access where required, site inductions attended and works sequenced to the principal contractor's programme.
Materials
Direct-to-board print or laminated panel wraps rated for external exposure over a full construction programme.
Phased updates
Panels designed so CGI reveals, funder boards and contractor information can be changed out without re-wrapping the full run.

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply RAMS and site documentation?

Yes. Risk assessments and method statements are issued before we attend, and our fitters carry the relevant cards and inductions.

How long do hoarding graphics last outdoors?

A UV-laminated printed panel comfortably covers a two to three year build programme without significant fade, which is why we do not quote unlaminated print for hoarding.

Can you update panels part-way through the build?

Yes — phased updates are normal. We keep artwork and panel schedules on file so replacements match the existing run exactly.

Can you work at height or from a MEWP?

Yes, where the works are planned and the equipment and permits are in place on site.

Do you cover planning requirements for hoarding graphics?

Local authorities in Glasgow and South Lanarkshire sometimes require consent for hoarding advertising, especially in conservation areas. We flag it at quote stage and supply the artwork and elevations you need for an application.

Can panels be replaced individually if damaged?

Yes. We keep your artwork and panel schedule on file, so a single vandalised or impact-damaged panel can be reprinted and swapped without redoing the run.
